A free Kahoot alternative made for parties
Kahoot! made live quizzes famous in classrooms and offices. Hupily takes the same idea – a question on the big screen, answers on everyone’s phone, points for speed – and shapes it for game nights with friends. It is currently free to use, and nobody needs an account.
What makes Hupily different
- No accounts for anyone. The host gets a private host key instead of a login; players just type a nickname.
- No app to install. Hupily runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs.
- Built for friends, not lesson plans. Write questions about your own crew, add house rules and play loud.
- Currently free. No trial period, no paywall, no ads.
What stays familiar
If you have played Kahoot!, you already know how Hupily works: players join with a short game code or QR code, every question has a timer, faster correct answers earn more points (up to 1,000), and a leaderboard appears between questions. The game ends with an animated podium for the top three.
When Kahoot! may suit you better
If you need classroom features such as student reports, assignments or a big library of ready-made quizzes, a dedicated education platform is a better fit. Hupily focuses on one thing: getting a live quiz with your friends running in two minutes.
Switch in two minutes
- Open Hupily and write a quiz title and your first question.
- Add 2–6 answers per question and tap the correct one.
- Your join code appears automatically – put it on the TV.
- Friends join from their phones and you press start.
