Frequently asked questions

What is Hupily?

Hupily is a live quiz game for groups. The host shows the questions on a shared screen and everyone answers on their own phone. Points are awarded for correct and fast answers.

How much does Hupily cost?

Hupily is currently free to use. There is no trial, no paywall and no advertising.

Do I need to create an account?

No. When you save a quiz, you get a private host key that lets you edit and host it again. Players only need the game code and a nickname.

How do players join?

They go to hupily.com/join and enter the 6-character code, scan the QR code in the lobby or open the invite link.

How does scoring work?

A correct answer earns up to 1,000 points. The faster you answer, the more points you get. Only your first answer counts.

Can I show the game on a TV?

Yes. Use “Open on the TV” in the lobby to open a display view with the room code, questions, leaderboard and podium.

What happens if the connection drops?

Hupily reconnects automatically and restores your seat, answer and score. If the host drops out, the game waits up to five minutes for them to return.

Which languages are supported?

English, Finnish, German and Spanish. You can write your quiz questions in any language.

What data does Hupily store?

Quizzes, game sessions, nicknames, avatars, answers and scores – nothing more. No email address is needed, there are no ads, and the only analytics are anonymous, cookieless usage counts.
